This is the first time I have ever woven a solid colour. For this piece I’ve used a tussah silk warp and combined it with an organic cotton weft. I've used a satin weave structure which produces weft face cloth on one side and warp faced cloth on the other. What that means is that each side is pushing either the warp or the weft to the surface, and the reverse is happening on the other side.
